About the Customer

SCS (Sustainable Century Solutions) produces certified biochar in Leinfelden-Echterdingen biochar 24/7 operation. Its annual capacity is 400 metric tons.

Founded by Dr. Thorsten Alxneit, SCS commissioned its first continuous pyrolysis plant in Leinfelden in 2025, following a successful proof-of-concept in Stuttgart-Obertürkheim. The biochar used in substrates, in viticulture, and in municipal urban tree projects—including collaborations with VfB Stuttgart and the City of Stuttgart.

SCS is a member of German Biochar e.V. and the European Biochar Industry Consortium.
