Technical Sales (m/f/d) – Capital Goods, Prototype Sales & Pyrolysis Plants
Work location:
Hybrid (87640 Biessenhofen and flexible within Germany, Austria, and Switzerland)
Our revolutionary technology is finally on the market—and interest is huge. Autarkize modular pyrolysis plants for the utilization of biomass residues, and potential customers are clamoring for them. Leads turn into projects, and discussions turn into real investment decisions.
What we need right now is you: a strong sales professional who understands how innovation truly reaches the market—not through endless product development, but through close customer contact, honest communication, and genuine partnership. You close deals—with structure, clarity, and a deep understanding of our customers.
Customer satisfaction is our top priority
At Autarkize , graduation Autarkize not an end in itself.
Our most important goal is: enthusiastic customers.
In concrete terms, this means the following for sales:
You don’t just turn leads into contracts—you turn them into satisfied, loyal customers who feel well-advised, make sound business decisions, and have long-term confidence in our solution.
Because our systems are not a "quick purchase," but rather a major project involving investments, financing, loans, collateral, and responsibility. That's exactly why you need someone who can close the deal—but who is just as skilled at guiding customers smoothly through the decision-making process.
Your mission
You will be responsible for establishing and implementing our technical sales department—with a clear goal:
Turn qualified prospects into real projects—and bring them to a successful conclusion.
We are not looking for a traditional key account manager who mainly looks after existing customers.
We are looking for salespeople who say:
A good day is a day with closure.
And at the same time:
A really good day is a deal that keeps the customer happy in the long term.
No “Hunter” sales pitch or high-pressure tactics—just a professional, courteous, and customer-focused approach.
Sales at Autarkize local, honest, and based on partnership
We’re not a corporate giant selling off-the-shelf products. We’re a tech startup with a solution that works—and one that we’re constantly refining together with our customers. Not because we have to, but because that’s our commitment: staying close to our customers and delivering the best product on the market.
Here's what that means for you:
· Qualify leads—instead of just managing them
You recognize which inquiries have real potential (demand, budget, timing, decision-making process) and bring structure to a broad list of leads.
· Mastering Prototype & Early-Stage Sales
You can guide customers safely even when not everything is "off the shelf" yet: pilot projects, technical queries, adjustments—you provide guidance and build trust.
· Design and manage the customer journey
You define how leads become projects—with clear steps, materials, commitment, and a process that is scalable.
· UnderstandingBusiness and project logic
You work with numbers and arguments: investment calculations, profitability, risks, amortization—and turn this into a story that is ready for decision-making.
· Consider financing (don't brush it aside)
Our customers often invest using loans, leasing, hire purchase, or partner models. You can understand such structures, address them, and actively integrate them into project planning.
· Focus on closing the deal—without sacrificing customer value
You bring deals to fruition—in a friendly, professional, and engaging manner.
Not “nice but without results,” but also not “a degree at any cost.”
Because our motto is: After making a purchase, the customer should say, "That was the right decision."
What you should bring with you
· At least 5–7 years of experience in technical B2B sales
· At least a basic understanding of energy technology or the energy industry
· Proven track record in the sale of capital goods, with sales in the at least six-figure range (preferably higher)
· Experience in prototype/project sales—that is, sales involving custom solutions rather than standard products, technical dependencies, longer decision-making cycles, and Business
· Closing skills & ownership: You actively drive the process toward the next steps and closing
· A strong focus on customer service: you don't just want to make sales; you want to build long-term relationships with customers
· Organizational skills and project understanding: you can help guide complex decision-making processes
· Startup mindset: You’re used to working in a dynamic environment where not everything is set in stone—and you see this as an opportunity for creativity, not a limitation. You bring structure where none exists and remain dependable as projects evolve.
· Ideally:
· Practical CRM experience (e.g., HubSpot)
· Knowledge of finance, leasing, or project financing
· Expertise in the fields of “thermal utilization of biomass,” “combustion technology,” or “industrial heating technology”
Important: What we are NOT looking for
· No dedicated key account managers whose primary role is to manage accounts
· No "hunter" who builds up pressure and then moves on
· No salespeople who won’t get started until every process is in place and every question has been answered—we need someone who can turn uncertainty into energy
We are looking for strong salespeople who love closing deals—and are just as good at turning leads into enthusiastic customers.
What we offer
· A highly motivated, warm-hearted team with a genuine sense of optimism
· A meaningful mission: The energy transition through a circular economy
· Technology with impact, pilot customers, and genuine demand
· Freedom + Responsibility: You really get to help shape our sales efforts
· Flexible work arrangements, clear values, and real career opportunities
