Project Leader / Project Manager
Autarkize modular plant solutions for the recovery of biomass residues. Our technology is innovative, efficient—and ready for the market. It not only helps reduce the impact on the climate, but also offers our customers a highly attractive economic solution to real-world problems.
No matter how chaotic things get—you bring order to the situation. With us, you’ll bring together projects, people, and issues that would otherwise never come together around the same table: clients, government agencies, suppliers, technical teams, and internal teams. If you can maintain a clear overview while communicating with empathy, you’ll be a great fit for us.
Your tasks:
Project Management & Client Communication
- You will be responsible for the entire project management process as the primary point of contact for our clients.
- You will manage communication between customers, government agencies, partners, internal departments (Production, Plant Planning, Sales), and third-party contractors.
- You ensure a smooth flow of information and effective collaboration among all project participants—you are the hub where everything comes together.
Approval Process & Legal Coordination
- You will coordinate and oversee permitting processes (e.g., BImSchG, building permit applications).
- You will work closely with government agencies and external consultants to ensure compliance with all legal requirements.
Peripheral integration
- You will coordinate the selection and integration of plant peripherals (e.g., screening, chipping, drying, and biomass feeding) in close collaboration with our technical teams.
- You make sure that all components work together seamlessly.
Biomass Streams & Raw Material Procurement
- You will establish and organize biomass supply chains in collaboration with local partners (recycling centers, forestry operations, biomass suppliers).
- You will advise our clients on the procurement and optimization of biomass resources.
Output
- You integrate the outputs (gas, heat, biochar) into existing customer processes.
- You will develop sales channels for products, including storage and logistics solutions for biochar.
Trade control
- You will coordinate and supervise external trades carried out by third-party companies.
- You will ensure that all work is completed on time, meets quality standards, and stays within budget.
Standardization & increased efficiency
- You'll develop project standards that make future client projects more efficient.
- You identify best practices and implement them.
What you bring to the table: Experience & Personality
- Several years of experience in project management—ideally in plant engineering, the construction industry, or a comparable technical/industrial setting.
- Excellent communication skills—you can speak confidently with customers, government agencies, technicians, and management alike.
- Strong customer- and solution-oriented mindset—you don't think in terms of problems, but in terms of solutions.
- A structured, organized approach to work with an eye for both the details and the big picture.
- Initiative, assertiveness, and a passion for establishing standards and processes.
- Strong Interest in Energy and Plant Engineering
Preferred (not required):
- Knowledge of permitting procedures (BImSchG, building permit applications).
- First exposure to renewable energy, energy technology, or biomass.
- Experience with the Machinery Directive and ATEX Directives.
- Experience in coordinating and supervising third-party companies and external contractors.
Language skills:
- Fluency in spoken and written German and English.
What we offer:
- A highly motivated, cordial team with a real spirit of optimism - we don't just write it, we live it.
- A dynamic start-up with a meaningful mission: energy transition through the circular economy.
- Technology with real impact—and pilot customers: The market is ready for us.

Frequently asked questions
Do you offer apprenticeships or practical semesters?
Training young people is very important to us! We are currently employing a working student and supervising a Master's thesis. We would also like to offer apprenticeships in the future. Please get in touch with us and we will discuss the possibilities together.
What should your application include?
Are you enthusiastically reading through our job advertisements but don't have your updated CV to hand? Don't let us slow you down, but send us a letter of motivation with your current job directly. We can then discuss at our leisure what we still need for the rest of the application process.
How does the application process work?
After our specialist departments have evaluated the applications, we like to start with a short team call so that both sides get a personal impression. If both sides can imagine working together, we will invite you to an interview. Depending on the position, we may also offer you a work trial.
Where exactly is Autarkize located?
